Aftercare

Please remember that the colour is up to 50% darker immediately after the treatment. It will start to become lighter after 4-7days. The true healed colour will not come through until approximately 4-6 weeks after the initial treatment. During the healing process, the colour may seem to have disappeared as it is obscured by the healing layers of skin. Under no circumstances should you have any further permanent cosmetics work undertaken during this 4-6 week period.

  • Ice packs protected by a cloth may be applied as necessary if swelling occurs (lips).
  • If you have had a lip treatment and suffer from cold sores (presently, or at any time in the past) we suggest the use of anti-herpes medication which can be obtained from your doctor or local pharmacy.
  • Always wash your hands before applying the balm provided to you as part of your aftercare.
  • Keep the area dry for a minimum of 48hours before applying balm to brows (No balm necessary on oily skin types).

For lips apply the balm a minimum of four times daily using a clean micro brush or cotton bud for each application preventing infection.

  • Avoid swimming, and excessive sweating for at least 10days
  • Avoid wearing makeup for 72hours
  • Do not pick, peel or scratch the treated area
  • Keep hair away to prevent infection
  • If the area gets wet, gently pat dry using a lint-free tissue. Do not rub.
  • Do not expose the treated area to extreme heat or cold for 14days. No sunbeds

A second appointment is needed 4-12 weeks after your first treatment. This is usually a 60minute appointment to add more pigment to the treated area. Some parts may not ‘hold’ pigment as well as others and you may have a few patches that need more colour. This is completely normal and everyone heals differently. For optimum results, we always advise you to come back to the clinic for your retouch.
